We started some seeds inside about a week and a half ago, set them in the window sill with the lids on…and VOILA! Our garden has officially started to show signs of growth. They have now been moved to the basement under grow lights until it is safe for transplanting to our dark, rich soil outdoors. So far we have successfully sprouted four types of heirloom tomatoes (cherokee purple, brandywine, amish paste, and yellow cherry), leeks, brussel sprouts, and parsnips.
I know I’ve said it before, and I’ll be saying it repeatedly, but this is actually the most wonderful time of the year!
